On November 4, 2024, the University of Salamanca welcomed external faculty members from Latin America and Spain to an engaging pilot session for the ENCORE approach and platform. This event was designed to introduce educators to ENCORE’s innovative integration of Open Educational Resources (OERs) and demonstrate how AI tools can support lesson planning and the creation of learning objectives through the ENCORE Enabler for Educators.
Participants began with an overview of ENCORE’s core framework before diving into practical activities. They were encouraged to experiment with the platform themselves, creating learning scenarios that utilized OERs and exploring how AI could enhance and streamline their teaching approaches. The session also included discussions on the benefits and challenges associated with using OERs, such as issues related to accessibility, quality control, and integration into existing curriculums, and how ENCORE aims to address these challenges through its user-centric, AI-enhanced solutions.
The responses from the attending faculty were notably positive, with many appreciating the platform’s potential for modernizing curriculum development. The pilot provided valuable insights into how ENCORE can empower educators to think differently about teaching resources and methodologies, highlighting its potential as a supportive tool for education professionals.
